Safrom's Public Alpha does not require an account and does not ask for profile, payment or precise-location information.
Optional destination search
Clicking Search sends the place name or address, selected city and language through Safrom's API to OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Do not enter private addresses or sensitive information. Results are cached in server memory for up to 24 hours. Safrom does not forward your IP or cookies to Nominatim or put these queries in page URLs or analytics events. Map-picked points stay in the browser.
Information stored in your browser
Your language preference is saved locally on your device. Shared city and comparison links encode their state in the URL. Safrom does not currently use that information to create a user profile.
Standard service records
Like most websites, the hosting, API and map providers may receive standard request metadata such as IP address, time, requested URL, browser type and diagnostic logs. These records are used to deliver and protect the service.
Visitor statistics
Safrom uses Ahrefs Web Analytics in production to measure page visits, traffic sources, basic browser/device information, language and approximate country/city. Ahrefs states that its default tracker uses no cookies and does not store raw IP addresses. It also measures outbound link clicks and qualifying form submissions automatically. Safrom adds no custom events or properties and does not include destination search text or map-picked points in analytics URLs.
Optional product analytics
If configured, Safrom offers an explicit choice before loading Google Analytics. After permission it receives page URLs and basic browser/device data; Safrom does not add search text or selected areas as custom events. Advertising signals and personalization are disabled. The choice stays on your device and can be changed below.
Corrections
The correction form creates a report in your browser. In the current Alpha it does not transmit or store the report; you choose where to send or save the copied text.
Optional city requests
City selection searches the GeoNames directory hosted by Safrom; search terms are not stored and are not sent to GeoNames. Clicking Send city request submits the selected city ID and topic. Safrom derives the city name, administrative region and country from the directory. We store bounded city-level counts, not a search history or individual submission archive. Daily counts expire after 90 days; inactive city entries expire after 180 days. A daily keyed hash of your network address prevents duplicates and abuse; these markers retain only the current and previous UTC day and are pruned hourly while the service is running. Safrom does not store raw IP addresses in the city-request tables, send the form contents to Google or Ahrefs, or require an email or account. City requests sharing a network may be counted together. Hosting request records remain subject to the service-record notice above.
Analytics preference
Safrom only loads Google Analytics after you allow it. You can change that choice here at any time.
