The official Denver crime map and its time window

Denver Police’s crime-information page links to an interactive map covering the previous 12 months in the City and County of Denver. The page says updates occur on weekdays and that records can be added, removed or revised.

Its separate dashboard offers year-to-date, 28-day, 180-day and complete-past-year views. Do not compare a rolling-map total with a full-year dashboard total without aligning the window.

  1. Open the Denver Police page below and choose Launch Crime Map.
  2. Check the address is within the jurisdiction covered by the map.
  3. Note the dates and offence filters before comparing another area.
  4. Use the dashboard only when its reporting period matches your question; do not treat a revised total as a live prediction.

An offence count is not an incident count

Denver describes its NIBRS-based data as including all crimes within an incident and all victims of person crimes. One incident can therefore contribute more than one counted item. A raw total cannot be compared directly with a dataset that keeps only the highest offence.

Visitor activity, commuting and reporting affect what a map shows. A count divided by resident population would still not be the probability that a traveller experiences a crime.

Research a Denver stay with RTD

RTD provides route, schedule and service-alert resources. Compare the exact property entrance and your destinations, rather than treating the nearest station as a complete transport plan.

Check arrival and evening return times separately. Include the final walk, any transfer and a fallback if service changes. Confirm late entry with the property before booking.

For living in Denver, test the workday journey

Compare prospective homes against the place you will actually work or study. A location that suits a short visit may create a very different daily journey. Ask about building access, parking or bicycle storage as appropriate to your routine.

Keep crime-map dates and categories consistent across your shortlist, but do not use the raw count as a rental recommendation. This guide has not verified current rents, building security or a neighbourhood safety ranking.

Questions about Denver

Does Denver’s crime map cover every suburb?

The official page specifies the City and County of Denver. Do not assume the same coverage for an address elsewhere in the metropolitan area. Check the responsible jurisdiction for that address.

Why might a Denver total change after I checked it?

The police page says records can be added, deleted or modified. Save the period and date of observation when comparing results. Different extraction dates or counting units can produce different totals.
